The Dragon King's Palace is the eighth published work by Laura Joh Rowland and the eighth entry in the Sano Ichirō series. It was originally published on April 23, 2003 by St. Martin's Press.

Synopsis[]

"While en route to Mount Fuji, Reiko, the beautiful young wife of detective Sano Ichiro, is abducted along with her pregnant friend Midori, the shogun's mother, and the deranged wife of the chamberlain. The women are imprisoned by a sinister, mysterious kidnapper, in a ruined palace. Back in Edo, the shogun demands quick action. Under the threat of death, Sano must work with his sworn enemies—Chamberlain Yanagisawa and Police Commissioner Hoshina—to rescue the women."[1]
